Description
Red Semi-Sweet Mount Athos 750ml Archangel Cell
A wonderful wine from vineyards in Karyes of Mount Athos on the road to the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, where Merlot grows.
Its color is bright and crimson.
The nose is dominated by juicy fruits such as blackberries and sour cherries, leaving room for floral, spicy, smoky and mineral touches.
On the palate it is rich but also elegant, with noticeable but fine tannins, acidity that brings freshness and a long aftertaste that focuses on the black fruit.
A few words about the variety Merlot
Excellent red variety with a global impact. Drought sensitive it needs moisture. Harvest late August to early September.
It gives quite dark dry wines with very dense and intense aromas reminiscent of plums, small red fruits, spices, herbs, plants, caramel, maybe even animal scents.
They have a full, rich, velvety and quite soft taste, often slightly herbaceous, with moderate acidity, soft tannins, which can be of very good quality, relatively high alcohol content and often a long aftertaste.
They mature successfully in barrels and depending on the quality, are susceptible to aging, from where they are enriched with complexity. It is very flexible and easy to combine.
Suitable for most flavors, but choose it as an accompaniment in meals with lamb, beef, duck, etc..
It is the best accompaniment for Italian cuisine.
